DWI, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Improper Lane Usage Dismissed

April 2025

City filed 3 charges against my client for driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, and improper lane usage.  The charges were filed 14 months after the alleged incident and we contacted the prosecutor requesting they dismiss the charges.  When the prosecutor refused to dismiss the cases voluntarily, a motion to dismiss the case was filed.  The case was argued in court and the judge agreed with our position that the applicable statute of limitations was one year, not the five that the prosecutor argued.  Case dismissed!
